T350 Module 

  

Retrofit LED module for Princeton Tec dive light, often used by cavers as back-up lights. 

 

Suitable for Princeton Tec-40 and Impact XL dive lights.

Princeton Tec 40  

 

The PT Tec40 incorporates a PF halogen bulb producing 28 lumen, with fairly hefty battery cosumption. It is still available on the PT website, albeit with a slightly styled up body from it's, widely used, original incarnation.

The latest LED version of the PT-40, the Impact XL produces 65 lumen, with a claimed 50 hour burn time (umhh !!)  http://www.princetontec.com/?q=impact-xl  

 

Module does not fit the PT Impact; the model that came in between the Tec-40 and the Impact XL, and incorporated a 5mm white LED and black reflector slug,as per photo (right). The PT Impact was also distinct in that the front window of the bezel incorporated a thick convex lens to focus the LED.

T350 Fitting

 

Open Tec-40 / Impact XL and remove reflector and halogen bulb assembly. Seperate the reflector and halogen bulb (or LED bulb in case of Impact XL) assembly as if replacing halogen bulb (it simply pops apart). You should have parts shown in photos (right). Retain black plastic rear body and spring. Reflector and halogen bulb are not required. 

Now test that module is working, by pressing down with thumb to turn on.  If not working then try the batteries around the other way, as module is polarity critical. If working Refit Tec-40 / Impact XL bezel, screwing down clockwise until module lights up. When bezel is unscrewed, spring pressure in module assembly will turn Flippin Tec module off. Only ever screw down bezel so far that module comes on. Similarly, only unscrew bezel far enough for light to go off. Operate light at 'sweet spot' of bezel rotation.

To fit T350 module, fit spring to Flippin Tec module, and insert into rear plastic body. Fit this assembly into Tec-40 / Impact XL. Note the orientation of the Flippin Tec module with keyway inside the Tec-40  / Impact XL. The black plastic body orientates on this to align battery connections. The Flippin Tec module has a distinct notch around the circumference of the circuit board. This notch should be aligned with the raised key way in the lamp body, otherwise the Flippin Tec module will not orientate correctly, and could potentially be damaged.
